Not an easy decision- And it's changed.

Update: We put puppies in 2024!!!
We have the last 8 years, made a litter of puppies every year. We have been breeding ESS since 2011. Because I love it: πŸ™‚ It's simply a “fix” for me. I really enjoy finding a male dog (This often takes much longer than 1 years), to plan/cooperate with the owner of the male dog. Wait for maturity, “When is the time right?”, Visit to male dog (After all, we often drive far, So there's a bit of planning) and will manage to get the couple. And it does, Then we wait with fingers crossed to see, whether there is gestation;, When we scan CA 28 days after mating. Fortunately, we have only experienced once during Corona, with frozen sperm;, that it did not succeed. But .. even after confirmed gestation on scan, can the absorb some of the puppies. So we always scan only for gestation, The number we see at birth πŸ˜‰ We have been extremely lucky with our births. In fact, we have never experienced problems. Our amazing vet has also said; “Lene, You must prepare for, that something can happen”. My short answer is just “Why?” πŸ™‚ But I hear and understand what he means. It's always so amazing, When the little puppies come into the world. The excitement around when they will arrive, How many will be there, Colors, Distribution of sex, etc. Of course, also with a little trepidation – especially for the mother. But it's just wonderful every time, And as I said – i LOVE it. The 8 weeks with the puppies are hard work, especially the last ones 4 weeks, but again … I love it. So it has not been an easy decision – The decision that we should not have puppies in 2024. There are several reasons for this decision, And I can feel that it is the right one, although I will miss mine “puppies fix” πŸ™‚
